Teachers Empowering Youth Activists

T.E.Y.A. is an organization of BIPOC and ally teachers. We strive to educate and empower youth with guided, purposeful and relevant community activism workshops. We support teachers with anti-racist, culturally relevant and equitably accessible lessons.

Our Mission

Empower through assessing youth interests, delivering workshops and facilitating projects that can be pushed out into Social Media or to other organizations/schools. Support other teachers with Anti-Racist Lessons, Culturally Relevant Lessons, Implicit Bias Awareness, and Privilege Checking. By January 2022, TEYA will have a membership of BIPOC and ally teachers to develop and facilitate workshops and lectures. Engage youth 12 - 18 year old in Community Activism and guide them in positive community impact projects in neighborhoods and schools. By January 2022, TEYA will have engaged youth and youth organizations in community activism projects.
